Pastor’s Biography

Rev. Boyer became Pastor of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Lynnwood in 2005, following a 27 year career in professional and academic theatre as an actor, director, technician, administrator and educator.  In addition to serving Evergreen Association as Ministry Associate, he represents Evergreen on the Board of Directors of the Church Council of Greater Seattle.  He also acts as convener for the South Snohomish County Ministerial Association and is a panelist for the City of Lynnwood’s community grants program and an official “mentor” for students at Fuller Seminary Northwest. Christopher is an alumnus of Rice University and of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.Rev. M. Christopher Boyer

During his theatrical career, he was Coordinator for the acclaimed Humana Festival  of New American Plays at Actors Theatre of Louisville for four years and served as administrative head for such theatres as A.D. Players, Stage One: The Louisville Children’s Theatre, New Harmony Theatre, Lincoln Amphitheatre, and Seattle’s Taproot Theatre Company.  He also taught Theatre Administration at Bellarmine University in Louisville and on selected topics at University of Southern Indiana, where he also managed the theatre program.  His career includes producing at the New Victory Theatre, part of the New 42nd Street Project in Manhattan, as well as producing two video projects in conjunction with the BBC.
Christopher has also served on many arts, social service and other community boards and continues to act as a consultant for theatres and non-profits across the country.  A native of St. Louis, he counts as his most profound blessings his marriage of 27  years to Connie, and their children: Kit, Colleen & Sean.
